The Cultural Festivals' team approach to special event management mandates that all interns possess a keen sense of self-motivation, the proclivity to work positively with a variety of personality types and leadership styles, the ability to be flexible and to embrace change. CF interns possess and demonstrate a high standard of integrity and professionalism. The internships are full time with an opportunity for a stipend.

 

GRAPHICS, IT & SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP
Assist with internal graphic design and information technology, including:

  • Email Blasts
  • Social Media
  • Assist in maintaining festival website
  • Work in partnership with marketing intern
  • Assist with IT management
  • Create promotional material including, but not limited to: advertisements, posters, flyers, etc.
    *Applicant must be knowledgeable with Adobe Creative Suite CS4, Dreamweaver 
    and proficient with Mac OS.

 

MARKETING INTERNSHIP 
Assist the Executive Director with marketing and public relations, including:

  • Scheduling radio and television interviews
  • Coordinating media for the festivals
  • Writing Press Releases
  • Generating Press Kits
  • Creating Media Alerts and email blasts
  • Coordinating sponsorship credentials
  • Assisting with online marketing
  • Helping identify new marketing opportunities
  • Assisting with special projects

 

PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP
Assist the Director of Operations with festival logistics and programming, including:

  • Site planning
  • Public Safety
  • Environmental Issues – “greening” the events
  • Select research projects, which may include cost analysis for tools and/or equipment, artist’s venue histories, etc.
  • Assist in preparing and managing contracts
  • Contract negotiation
  • Visual artists management
  • Creation of on-site informational documents/manuals
  • Volunteer Coordination
  • Assist with coordination of various program committees such as Merchandise, Guest Relations, Artist Relations and the Programming Committee. 

 

DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Assist the Executive Director with sponsor relations and solicitation, including:

  • Seek new funding opportunities
  • Writing sponsor proposals
  • Assist with sponsor renewals
  • Write and manage sponsor contracts
  • Coordination of the annual sponsor breakfast/lunch
  • Creating sponsorship fulfillment reports

The Saint Louis Art Fair and The Big Read are produced and presented by    Cultural Festivals.

Cultural Festivals is a not-for-profit corporation, designated by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 organization and is tax-exempt in the state of Missouri.
All support goes directly toward the presentation of the annual Saint Louis Art Fair and The Big Read Festival and their various cultural outreach programs and services presented throughout the year. Donations to Cultural Festivals are tax-deductible as a charitable contribution.
